Feel the real taste of Africa by doing walking safari along the Luwi River in the South Luangwa National Park of Zambia. The Luwi river area (where Luwi, Nsolo and Kakuli Bush Camps are situated) is famous for large numbers of lions, wild dogs, leopards and hippopotamus. Lead by the experience veteran guide and scout teams, this eight night privately guided safari is perfect for adventurers who are looking for a really involving in wildlife and wilderness experience.

Luwi Bush Camp

On arrival at Lusaka Airport, you will be accompanied to your connecting flight to Mfuwe. Reception at the Mfuwe airport on arrival and transfer to Luwi Bush Camp which is 3 hours game drive through South Luangwa National Park.

Have lunch at the shade of the mahogany trees. After settling down in the camp, explore the nearby lagoons filled with crocodiles and hippos.

Dinner is served under the stars. Overnight at the Camp.

Luwi Bush Camp

Leave the camp before sunrise for your morning walking safari, following the foothills of the Muchinga Escarpment into the Miombo woodland. Then follow the downstream of the Luwi.

Enjoy brunch in the shade of a tree. Then head back towards Luwi to catch the beautiful sunset at the lagoon which is always busy with animals.

Dinner is served under the stars. Overnight at the Camp.

Nsolo Bush Camp

Leave camp early and start walking towards Nsolo Bush Camp. On the way, you will see game rich dambos or wetlands for which the Luangwa Valley is famous for.

When you arrive Nsolo Camp, you will find a cool drink waiting, brunch on the table and your bags in your room.

Have a rest and enjoy the magical atmosphere of one of the oldest bush camps in South Luangwa National Park.

Dinner is served under the stars. Overnight at the Camp.

Nsolo Bush Camp

After breakfast, heading out on a morning walking safari to find lions fresh tracks and follow them through the bushes.

En route, stop for a tea/coffee break. Enjoy the wilderness of South Luangwa by spotting wild dogs or lepoards before returning back to the camp for brunch.

Rest in the camp for a while. Have a delicious cake and tea/coffee before going out for the afternoon walk.

Pre-dinner drinks are then served before enjoying the dinner under the stars. Overnight at the Camp.

Sleep Out

After breakfast, heading out for morning walking safari.

In the afternoon, you will leave on foot heading downstream towards Kakuli.

Find a spot in the middle of the dry sand river bed to set up your bedroll and mossie net, build the camp fire and make preparations for your sleep out night under the stars with all the luxuries of 5 star food and even your own bush toilet.

Kakuli Bush Camp

Continue your journey following the Luwi River till you arrive to confluence of the Luangwa Luwi Rivers where Kakuli Camp is located.

This camp has sweeping and majestic views over the Luangwa and is the perfect place from which to explore the riverine area both on foot and by game viewing vehicle.

During the first few hours of darkness, explore the area around the Camp which is bustling with predators in action.

Dinner and Overnight at the Camp.

Kakuli Bush Camp

Kakuli Bush Camp

After breakfast, heading out for morning walking safari or season boating on green season. Stopping en route for a morning tea/coffee break. Return back to camp late morning or stay out all day and have a picnic in the Park.

Alternatively, you can relax in the camp all day making the most of the spectacular views over the hippo filled Luangwa.

Pre-dinner drinks are served before enjoying dinner under the stars. Overnight at the Camp.

Kakuli Bush Camp

After breakfast at Kakuli Bush Camp, transfer to Mfuwe airport for your domestic flight back to Lusaka. It will be a 2-3 hours game driver depending on what you see along the way.
