Discover Vietnamese way of life by visiting two important deltas of Vietnam - Red River Delta and Mekong Delta. Staying with a local host family in Ky Son, enjoying Halong bay junk boat cruise, visiting the capital city Hanoi, relaxing on luxury cruise L’Amant that sails through Mekong Delta and biking around rice fields in My Tho.
Upon arrival, welcome by the local guide at Hanoi airport and check-in at the hotel.
The day is at leisure in the Vietnamese capital. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast, drive toward Ky Son Village. Welcome drink upon arrival and check-in at the home-stay. This place offers a great chance to experience the authentic rural life of the Red River Delta.
In the late-morning, there will be an introduction to the Vietnamese way of life and then, a cooking class with the host family, followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, depart for a bicycle trip through the village - an opportunity to participate in daily activities along with the villagers, such as gathering herbal plants, taking care of the rice fields or tea plantation or simply taking time for fishing.
Then, head back to the home-stay for dinner followed by a relaxing traditional foot massage.

A normal day in the Vietnamese countryside begins early with a session of traditional exercise in the courtyard. Breakfast is then served. Then, the host family will introduce you the intricacy of Vietnamese spirituality, through an initiation to ancestor worship and votive paper burning. Later, enjoy a free time just relaxing on a hammocks.
In the late-morning, visit the Mong Phu Village and its ancient houses made of laterite and mud.
In the afternoon, visit the Thay Pagoda, built on the mountainside and located about 30km west of Hanoi. The place offers a breathtaking view over the region and is covered with a mystical atmosphere.
Later, return back to Hanoi and check-in at the hotel upon arrival.

After breakfast, travel by road to the majestic Halong Bay, listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
On the way, stop to visit Phu Lang ceramic village in Bac Ninh for a short walk along the street lined with many workshops of home-made ceramic products.
Arrive in Halong by midday and board on a junk for a memorable cruise through the mystical Halong Bay. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board and spend the day admiring one of the natural marvels of Vietnam.
Visit islets, caves and if the weather permits, enjoy a swim in the jade waters of the Gulf of Tonkin.
Dinner and overnight on the junk.

After breakfast, the cruise resumes, navigating between karts, some of which display extraordinary shapes. The cruise ends at around 11 am, then drive back to Hanoi.
In the afternoon, enjoy a rickshaw ride through the city center followed by a traditional Water Puppet show, featuring sketches about the daily life and beliefs of the rural people.

After breakfast, explore the capital city, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the remains of the national hero, the father of the nation rest, his former residence, the one-Pillar Pagoda and Tran Quoc Pagoda.
Then, depart to the famous Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Then head to Ngoc Son Temple.
In the late morning, transfer to Hanoi airport for the flight to Can Tho. Welcome upon arrival at the airport and check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, visit the century old house in Binh Thuy, before exploring the city market.

After breakfast, visit the vibrant Cai Rang floating market where each day the boats are filled with fruits and vegetables.
Then drive to My Tho in the heart of the Mekong Delta and check-in on board of L’Amant. A short introduction followed by lunch on board. The cruise starts toward Cai Be.
On arrival, board a sampan boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. Sail through the floating market and taking a rowing boat, journey through the numerous arroyos. Visit an ancient colonial house and a rice popcorn factory and taste the local specialties.
Return back on board and depart to Vinh Long while watching the sunset from the sundeck.
Early in the evening, the boat will anchor near Vinh Long for overnight. Dinner on board followed by the projection of the film “L’Amant” or “Indochine”.

Note: Depart on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. During the cruise on board of L’Amant, all excursions in the program are organized in join-groups (no private excursion).

After breakfast, the boat heads toward Sa Dec. Upon arrival, check-out from the cruise. Then getting on a local boat to reach Sa Dec City, the old-fashioned town, famous for its flowers and bonsai plants.
Stroll through the lively market streets to the tomb of “L’Amant” (the Lover) and his parents. Visit a Chinese temple and pass-by the school where Margerite Duras’ mother has taught as well as the house where she used to live with her children. The school is closed during public holidays. Stop to visit the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, the “house of the Chinese” described in Marguerite Duras’ novel “L’Amant”.
After the visit, drive to My Tho and meet the local family who will host the night at “La Villa Balny”. Later, either help the family host to prepare the dinner or enjoy a quiet walk around the villa.

After breakfast, depart for a 12 km bicycle ride through the rice fields and vegetable gardens until the nearby villages to visit small handicraft workshops making products such as bamboo baskets or hats. This excursion can be replaced by a walk to the neighbouring villages and market.
Return back to Villa Balny for lunch.
In the early afternoon, drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and the time is free to enjoy the bustling city.
