Half day city tour

With ochre-colored colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and scenic lakes, Hanoi is full of charm. After breakfast, start the tour at the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing monument lavishly built using marble and granite, and where the preserved body of Uncle Ho resides.

After that, you can visit One Pillar Pagoda which is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is regarded alongside the Perfume Temple, as one of Vietnam's two most iconic temples. Behind the Mausoleum, you can see Ho Chi Minh's House where he lived and worked. It is made of wood and enjoys a tranquil setting, with a view of a lotus pond. Ho Chi Minh’s belongings are on display and you can walk up the steps of his house to see his bedroom.

Then enjoy an hour cyclo tour through the Old Quarter to enjoy the bustling local life. We will cyclo along the busy streets to the Old Quarter, one of Vietnam’s most lively and unusual places, where you can buy anything from a gravestone to silk pajamas. The maze of back streets is fascinating, and the area is known for its tunnel or tube houses. They were developed to avoid taxes based on the width of their frontage onto the street, so their small frontages hide very long rooms. A cyclo tour of the Old Quarter provides us a good first dose of Vietnamese culture, and insight into the country’s long history. Lunch at Indochine Restaurant.

Insight to veteran’s experiences

Hanoi has more than 1000 years of history and passed many ups & downs which bring the capital charms & attractions. Today, you will explore & discover the traces of the wars, and meet a veteran who used to be soldier during the American war from 1970-1975 to get a glimpse of the history and his authentic experience.

Start at the Hanoi Hilton where American POWs were kept. Then head to Truc Bach & Huu Tiep Lakes in Ngoc Ha village where many B52 planes were shot down. Afterwards drive to Thang Long Royal Citadel. Visit the underground war bunker in the same compound. The bunker played an important role in the American war, especially during the 12 days and nights of the Ha Noi-Dien Bien Phu air battle in 1972. Finish the trip with a visit to the extensive Army Museum. This repository of Vietnam's military history includes rooms full of war propaganda, photographs and documents from China, France, and the US wars.

My Village Show & Dinner

Late this afternoon depart from your hotel to see My Village Show, a combination of arts highlighting the peaceful country life and poetic scenery of Vietnam. Bamboo pipes and baskets are used throughout the performance as set decorations and traditional daily activities of villagers and festive celebrations are demonstrated by performers and musicians in farmers’ clothing. After the show, enjoy beautifully decorated dishes of innovative Vietnamese cuisine in a different approach at Cau Go Vietnamese cuisine restaurant, located on the top floor of old building which was built 90s with amazing view overlook to Hoan Kiem lake. His blog is where he started to document his enormous passion for food and culture since 2005. Today, stroll through the Old Quarter past the old east gate to Thanh Ha market. Along the way, try local delicacies and listen to his explanation of Vietnamese food practices. This busy, eclectic market is alive with the sights and sounds of Hanoi and is the essence of Vietnamese culture.

Continue through the streets of the Old Quarter to Dong Xuan market to sample some local treats such as pho tiu and bun dau. See dried goods and aromatics, the essentials of Vietnamese cuisine.
