We don’t just love Africa, we live here and we are passionate about sharing her unspoiled treasures. We have an old fashioned approach to service and that is why our team is our greatest asset.
Our destination management team, based in South Africa, offers professional, unbiased travel expertise at great prices. Whether you want inspiration or information, we take the time to get to know you, your dreams, expectations and specific requirements. We become your travel partner, together creating a journey - moments and memories you will treasure for a life time. Our expertise is built on personal travel experience and trusted relationships in every destination. We are on the ground and on call 24/7 - ready to take your hand from the moment you leave the plane.
With two regional offices in Kasane and Vic Falls, we are perfectly positioned to provide you with the best ground handling service. You are assured of a friendly, warm welcome and a secure hand shake.
We boast a full fleet of transfer vehicles, safari vessels, fishing boats and game drive vehicles and we concentrate on the little things that makes all the difference! Our vessels are registered on both sides of the river i.e. Namibia and Botswana which means that they can cruise right up the Kasai Channel (which joins the Chobe River to the Zambezi). Having owned and operated the Zambezi Queen, we have learnt how to get our timing right. We literally choreograph our trips to avoid the mass departures - so there will be no need for you to edit another cruise boat, tourist hat or camera lens out of your holiday photos! Our vessels are equipped with toilet facilities so the earlier departure and longer cruise will not compromise your comfort.
The same can be said of our game viewing vehicles, which have been extended to accommodate built in cold and storage boxes which means that there wont be any "cooler boxes" crashing against your knees and ankles as you are trying to take in the sights and sounds of the wilderness. All our game drive vehicles have been equipped with ultra comfortable bucket seats (not the standard, generally hard bench seats that leave your back and spine in need of TLC)! Depending on your group size (if less than 8), we offer a "no middle" seat option at no extra charge, once again affording a clear view of the wildlife you have come to see. It goes without saying that, having operated in the area for as long as we have, our guides know where to take you, away from the maddening crowds, to nature's perfection.
Speaking of perfection, our floating restaurant - The Raft, is a place where you will bump into the locals and other like minded travellers! What more can be said about this unique dining experience? The facts are it's open daily for lunch, seats 64, is situated on the Chobe River (opposite the game rich Sedudu Island) and is accessible by water transfer. You know you are good when your competitors come for a beer and then bring their guests along too but we think Trip Advisor says it best: “Most amazing experience of all time,” “Unique and Wonderful,” “Best restaurant and safari in Kasane by far!” “A spectacularly unique African dining experience!” “Lunch amongst elephants,” “Perfect Setting,” "I've just come back from a 10 day visit to Botswana & South Africa & The Raft on Chobe River was by far the best experience"
Another of our unique offerings, this time based on Lake Kariba, is our Luxury 65 foot houseboat, The Lady Jacqueline. The company owner's personal retreat is now open to our guests! With a classic rounded hull, no-money spared, attention to detail interior and the latest technology ensures that she is the pinnacle of under-stated luxury and comfort. Despite this, her biggest secret is her crew. This wondrously warm and unobtrusive teams' chief desire is to see to your every need, allowing you to focus on what you there for… to soak up the abundant joy, surprises and mysteries of wildest Africa.
We stand out from the crowd and avoid the tourist traps! We know this may be a once in a life time opportunity for you to experience the unspoiled Africa of the early explorers and we do our utmost to make this a reality for you.
There are many routes one can take into this wilderness. Now a days most fly over head but for the lucky few that, have the time to, follow in the foot steps of the pioneers, we have the perfect mode of transport - our custom built OKA over land safari vehicles - please don't let your mind wander to the traditional, stereo typical "back packers" camping paradise, these vehicles are for the more discerning traveller and again do not compromise on comfort. They allow us to transport our guests to the back of beyond, where a real ‘wild Africa’ awaits. However the bumps and the humps will be absorbed by an outstanding air suspensions system, bucket seats, with your own door (thanks to the extended chassis) allowing for easy, no queueing, access and massive canvas windows for best viewing, an on board fridge and running water completes the list. It has been built to comfortably, reliably and safely transport both young and very old through unforgiving terrain to get up close and personal with the Africa of old.
To complete our portfolio, we have two lodges to our name. Kaza Safari Lodge, formerly known as Impalila Island Lodge. Nestled close to the junction of four countries – Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe – and near the meeting place of the mighty Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, Kaza Safari Lodge is a water-bound wonderland. With over 100km of waterways to traverse, Kaza Safari Lodge lies a mere 80km upriver from the Victoria Falls. Surrounded by rippling beds of pink-tinged water lilies, the lodge lies protectively beneath the branches of a 700 year-old Baobab tree under which, it is said, David Livingstone camped. Eight luxury en-suite chalets all with river views echo the colours of Africa. Here lies promise of excitement by day; tranquillity by night.
Chobe Water Villas - A joint venture between our Managing Director and O&L Leisure, has arguably the best location in Kasane. The 16 luxurious, spacious water villas overlook the renowned Sedudu Island and the Chobe National Park, an area that supports the greatest density of wildlife of any river system in the world.Entrust us with you dreams, we won’t show you the world; we’ll show you Africa.
We just finished a trip-of-a-lifetime! It truly was a life-changing trip for me in so many ways. Africa has my heart and I wouldn't hesitate to return if the chance ever came again.
Our three days in Vic Falls and Chobe was the "icing on the cake". We had a FANTASTIC time! We can't thank you enough for providing such outstanding service. Your correspondence with me prior to the trip was excellent. You were always prompt in answering my questions and provided my with easy to understand instructions of what you needed from me. It was smooth sailing with your company from start to finish. I can't compliment you enough.
The transfers were very exceptional. We particularly liked Paka, our driving while in Zimbabwe. I would strongly encourage you to use him as much as possible. He always arrived early, was full of knowledge and very kind. He was a safe and courteous driver, which is important to us. When he took us to the Bomo dinner, he walked in and made sure we were settled before he left us. I felt "watched over" in his care. He was willing to work around our schedule and take us wherever we wanted to go. He is truly a good man and a valuable "team member".
We loved Chobe! It really isn't something I can describe to others now that I am back home. To be in an area of such vast beauty and to see animals in their natural surroundings was a gift. We were grateful we arrived a bit late for the floating restaurant, as all the other tourists soon left after we arrived and we had some very lively and connecting conversations with the ladies that work there. We learned a lot about them and shared much laughter. We even offered to help with the dishes, but of course were turned down. They are delightful and the meal was hearty.
Imagine our surprise when we then boarded our river cruise and are sharing the boat with people that live 15 minutes from our home in Utah! What are the chances? We didn't know them, but knew OF them and had a great time together. It was exciting to see the many animals in and around the water--and the sunset--stunning. We relaxed, laughed and took in the sights.
We LOVED the Mowana lodge. It felt luxurious and pampering. The staff was very attentive and we had fun each meal mixing with the eclectic groups of people staying there. It lent itself to share pictures with each other of what we had seen that day. And the early morning safari drive was an adventure. We saw so many kinds of animals and birds. We had a man from the Netherlands with us that was an encyclopedia of knowledge--he taught us so much. It was a perfect morning.
Victoria Falls were magnificent. Truly. I stood in awe at their power and beauty. Niagara Falls here in the States are stunning, but pale in comparison to Victoria Falls. I told Ali that the Falls were worth coming to Africa for.
The boma dinner was just pure fun. Lots of laughter, complete with a certificate for my eating a Mopani worm. The witch doctor told me I will be rich in 3 years, so I am counting on that. Ali got up and danced and we amused ourselves playing the drums. We tried small amounts of about everything on the menu and were very pleased with the overall experience. Again, Paka was there waiting for us and waited for us to make sure we got into our hotel ok upon our return.
I would not hesitate to recommend your company to others. You left no stone unturned and the efficiency and timeliness of your itinerary execution was a standard for others to follow.
Thank you for giving us such a positive and lasting impression of that beautiful part of the world. We feel honored and fortunate for having been able to experience it.
