Often overlooked in the traditional northern circuit of Tanzania, Tarangire is one of the best locations to observe elephant herds in the country. Chances for spotting Big Cats such as lions and leopards are good, particularly around the vegetated woodlands and marshes of its surrounds. There are also good numbers of wildebeest and zebra as well as giraffe, buffalo, Thompson's gazelle, greater and lesser kudu, eland, leopard and cheetah. The real prizes in the park are dwarf mongoose, oryx and generuk antelope but viewings are very rare.

Stop at leisure for a picnic lunch right in the middle of the savannah on your way to Kuro Airstrip in order to fly to Manyara Airstrip. On arrival, our team from The Manor at Ngorongoro will meet you and welcome you at The Manor for tea.
Created from a volcanic eruption millions of years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of the natural wonders in Africa and one of the most majestic locations for wildlife photography. Despite being the world's largest volcanic caldera, its relatively compact size allows for viewings of large numbers of animals in the same place. Its magic stems from its sheer physical beauty and stunning panoply of wildlife that roam its floor, with the 2000ft descent into the crater revealing a sight of unequalled grandeur.

After breakfast, an Elewana vehicle will take you on a full day game drive to the Ngorongoro Crater.
You will drive across this UNESCO World Heritage Site which shelters some of the most stunning wildlife in East Africa, over 20,000 animals including one of the strongest remaining black rhino population, black-mane lions, buffalo, Thomson's gazelle, Grant's gazelle and topi. Moreover, the enclosed geography of the crater has spurred predators to hunt their prey regardless of the presence of safari vehicles, providing a unique chance to witness the much-coveted lion kill.
A picnic hamper lunch will be served on the crater floor. After lunch, you will explore more of the crater before heading back to The Manor for evening cocktails and dinner.
Overnight at the manor.
After breakfast, you have the option of visiting Lake Manyara National Park or staying at the lodge to explore the estate, where you can choose from a host of activities including horseback riding, cycling, an estate tour, spa treatments or just watching the day go by from the sun terrace of your cottage.
The waters of Lake Manyara draw a plethora of birdlife and land species ranging from zebra, impala and wildebeest to majestic giants such as elephants and buffalo, but it is most notoriously known for the massive troops of baboons that roam around the plains and set a unique mood. It is also home of prides of tree-climbing lions (although these are not exclusive to this reserve as it is commonly thought) and its forests feature eye-catching bird species in silvery-cheeked hornbills and crested guinea fowls.
After lunch you will be driven to the Manyara airstrip for your onward flight to the Serengeti, where upon arrival you will be met by the Serengeti Migration Camp team.
Next enjoy of an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park returning to our camp just in time for sundowners. The Serengeti is the largest National Park in Tanzania and one of the elite African destinations to spot the Big Five: lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

|Ngorongoro → Serengeti||30min|
After breakfast, you will spend the full day exploring the vast Serengeti.
A massive ecosystem that extends across northern Tanzania and southwest Kenya, the plains of the Serengeti have become the archetypical image of Africa in popular culture. Its immense grasslands dotted by kojpes (small rocky outcrops) are home to an astonishing number of species including millions of wildebeest, half a million zebra and hundreds of thousands of gazelles and antelopes, creating a unique spectacle that has been inscribed as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Most important are the plentiful predators that hunt these pray, featuring over 3,000 lions, 1,000 leopards and around 8,000 hyenas.
Our drive will let us escape the crowds and explore the north area of the park, which receives far less visitors and where off-road driving is permitted, allowing for a more intimate wildlife-viewing experience.
We will enjoy a bush lunch in a stunning location and spend the rest of the afternoon game viewing. You will return to Serengeti Migration Camp in time for sundowners and dinner.
