San Sebastian Pintxo tour
We will start our city tour at 13:00, with a pintxo lunch in the best bars of the Old Town. This is a cultural immersion through gastronomy, where will learn a lot about the basques through their culinary traditions. Your local guide will take you to the best pintxo bars in town, to discover the specialty of each house, with its own history and charm.
After that, we will make an excursion to see where the local cheese comes from: we will visit a basque farm in the green hills surrounding the city, where the shepherd will do a shepharding demonstration to show us how he works with his dog and sheep. A fascinating display of a local tradition that has become a "rural sport" ("herri kirolak" in basque).
This farm produces the traditional Idiazabal cheese from unpasteurized milk of the basque "latxa" sheep. This famous, award winning local cheese with a smokey flavour has the best quality and is the most popular in the Baque Country. We will learn about the cheesemaking process and in a workshop you will be able to try it yourself.
