This tour package starts in Porto, on the north bank of the River Douro. From there you will visit some of World Heritage Sites recognized by UNESCO - Guimaraes, Braga, Coimbra, Régua, Pinhão and Vila Nova de Foz Côa. During the trip, a Local Host will accompany you dealing with all the details.
Welcome at Porto airport. Transfer to your hotel. Before dinner, we’ll take a evening walk through Porto.
Porto is located on the north bank of the River Douro, considered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The historic center of Porto is the city’s oldest area and corresponds to the representative urban fabric of the medieval origins of the city, with an area of about 49 hectares.
We will visit: the Fernandina wall, the São Bento station, the square of the Ribeira, the Porto Cathedral, the Church and Tower of the Clerics. We also discover the zona Ribeirinha (waterfront zone).
We will visit the city of Guimarães, which has a strong historical past that has to do with the birth of Portugal. We will visit the historical center, the Palace of the Dukes of Braganca and Guimaraes Castle.
On return to Porto, a stop in the city of Braga, with a visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte and the Republic Square, the historic center of Braga.
Today we will visit the city of Coimbra. The uptown was developed in harmony with the University. We will see Site the Sofia street, also part of the World Heritage.

Departure towards the Douro Valley, the oldest demarcated region of the world, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2001. This distinction is due to the unique character of its landscape, its natural relationship with the culture of wine, olive oil and almond trees, and the diversity of the local architecture.
Peso da Régua will be the starting point to the small town of Pinhão. We will visit the old train station which today operates as a museum and has a unique collection of pieces connected to wine and vineyard. We will also visit a producer of Port wine, and do a wine tasting.
On this day we will visit the cave engravings of the Foz Côa Valley. It is an area inhabited by man for more than twenty-thousand years, with indelible marks of his passage. There are paintings and cave engravings, spread across six places, which represent the life in the Paleolithic period.
