Indein & Cooking Class

In the morning, take the short walk from your hotel to Nyaung Shwe jetty. Your boat will take you to the crumbling 17th century pagodas at Indein on the western shore of Inle Lake, weaving up narrow creeks as you make your way to the pagodas.

Also in the area you will have the chance to explore ethnic Pao villages, after which you will return to Nyaung Shwe.

Cooking Class

We will make a small gastronomic immersion in the area of Thar Lay Ywa to learn about the famous Shan cuisine. With hat and apron, and the hand of our experienced and fun local chef and his mother, we will learn to cook some of the most exquisite dishes, and taste them in an idyllic setting.

This unique experience is in a local house, open and overlooking the small streams that cross the village. We can learn, eat and drink while the fishermen work and sail to their homes.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn the art of local tobacco fondling, the cheroot sheet, and can help the local family to fiddle with some of the cigars they produce on the ground floor.
