Luang Prabang

You will be met by our staff and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. After check in, free at leisure.

Luang Prabang & Pak Ou Caves

After breakfast, we will visit The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. We enjoy a short-guided tour of the city's oldest temple, the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong where you can see the impressive tree of life mosaic set in colored glass. 

We then board an upstream cruise on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. We’ll make sure to stop at the Pak Ou Caves, sanctuaries consisting of two large caverns, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. 

We will also stop at a few villages during the day, including Ban Xanghai where the local rice wine is produced. Once back in Luang Prabang city we take a visit to Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek, small villages well known for silk weaving and Saa (Jute) paper-making.

Kuang Si Waterfall

After breakfast, visit the ethnicities and crafts center TAEC, visit to the temples of Wat Visoun that are shaped like watermelon, then we continue to Kuang Si Waterfall. It is possible to walk along the top of the waterfall and if time permits, and you can even swim in the clear waters at the foot of the waterfall. Picnic lunch at the falls. 

On return to the city, we then climb up to the top of Mount Phou Si to explore the sacred, gilded stupa as well as capture a beautiful view of the city and the Mekong River at sunset. From there, we visit the Night Market, where you can browse through a lovely selection of handmade textiles.

Ban Nayang

After breakfast, the tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive out of Luang Prabang City center. 

The trip will take road 13 up north along Nam Ou Riverside passing through beautiful charming points of Nam Ou Valley, panoramic views, green rice plantations, some Khmu tribal villages, Lao Loum, Hmong villages, Nam Touam and Nam Bark food market on the way. 

Upon arrival at Ban Nayang, a remote area where you will spend your holiday closer to peaceful nature and have your homestay with a Tai Lue family and learn about their culture and traditions. The Tai Lue moved from Sip Song Pan Na to Laos probably 500 years ago, they are Buddhist and believe in the spirits of their ancestors. We will explore the village and get in touch with local weavers and take a weaving course.

Weaving Course of Laos Textiles

After breakfast, today is your lesson of your weaving course, you will learn and practice how to produce textiles and weaving such as the Tai Lue woman skirts, trousers and other clothes made of silk and real cotton. 

You will learn how to grow mulberry for feeding silk worms. You will also see how hand-made bamboo handicrafts as streaming rice basket are made. After that you will learn and participate in the production process of tobacco.

Nong Khiaw & Muang Ngoi

After breakfast, we will drive to Nong Khiaw. The trip will go through the beauty of nature, local villages, rice and crop plantations, green mountains, huge cliffs, and historical places of the Nam Park district related to the Indochina War. 

Nong Khiaw is located on the Nam Ou River, surrounded with superb landscapes of valleys and mountains. You can try crossing the Nam Ou river over the old bridge between Nong Khiaw and Ban Sop Houn. After your visit to the old village, you will explore Pa Tok Cave. This was used as a nursing home during the Nam Bark War (the Indochina War). 

After visiting Nong Khiaw, you will get on a slow boat to cruise the Nam Ou river to Muang Ngoi where your guesthouse is located.

After breakfast, we will walk to the boat and cruise down Nam Ou river to Nong Khiaw and then continue to Dam, where your mini bus is waiting. Transfer back to Luang Prabang, with an en route stop at a Khmu village
