After breakfast, you will visit the feeding platform of orangutans. The platform was built to help the orangutans that have been released to the wild after their rehabilitation. As they are semi-wild, they sometimes have trouble finding food on their own so they come to the platform for some milk and bananas. This is meant as the first place for the orangutans to come for help rather than plantations or villages where conflicts can occur.
From the platform you will walk about 6 hours in the park to experience the rainforest. It is not a flat walk but involves some ups and downs. A little hard but in return you get a very nice experience. You have a good chance of spotting gibbons, thomas leaf monkeys, longtail and pigtail macaques, flying squirrels, Sumatra peacocks and hornbills. A wild orangutan might also cross your way.
Your guide will explain many things about the rainforest, and he will show you many different kind of plants and flowers. You will camp at a peaceful spot in the park. The campsite is authentic, tents are bamboo shells covered with tarpaulins stretched over a branch. The front and back of tent are open, but offers adequate protection from the rain. A real jungle camp! Your guides will cook delicious local food for you.
