Early morning visit to the Golden Temple, the holiest of the shrine of the Sikh faith. Witness the comings and goings of sikh devotees bathing in the Sarovar Tank, then enter the temple to witness the reading of their holy scriptures. 

Back to the hotel for breakfast. The tour continues with a visit Jallianwala Bagh Garden, a peaceful garden that stands as a memorial of the tragic history of the city. Then make the short drive to Wagah Border which separates India and Pakistan Board and observe the lively daily changing of guard.

This day you will slowly start your way up the mountains which will get you to the high altitudes of Ladakh in one week. We will enter the great Himalayas through the Dhauldhar Range to the famous hill station Dharamshala, home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the head of the Tibetan Government in exile. 

Afternoon at leisure to walk around the town and soak in its Tibetan vibe. Get some beautiful tibetan jewellery, enter interesting thangka painting galleries or watch sunset from any of its warm local cafes.

After breakfast, full-day local tour around Dharamshala. We start with a visit to his Holiness Dalai Lama's Residence, the complek of Tsuglagkhan, which houses a museum and the personal temple of the Dalai Lama. Today we continue our ascent and drive to the hill-station of Manali, which for centuries has been the gateway to Ladakh and the Tibetan Plateau. En-route we will make a visit of Goddess Parvati Temple Hanogi Mata.

Located in the Kullu Valley, action-packed Manali is one of the most charismatic hill stations of North India. Adventure seekers will find a wide range of mountain pursuits while those wanting for a more laid back stay can enjoy its hippie atmosphere.

After breakfast, full day visit of Manali and its surrounds. Places to visit are the Nagar Castle, Gauri Shankar Temple and Chatar Bhuj Temple. On our return drive we will stop at Jagat Sukh Temples, one of the most ancient temples of Gayatri Mata.

En route, enjoy traditional lunch with a local family in a village and a taste of local salt, tea and rice beer. Spend some time with local people in their houses to learn about their lifestyle and admire the interior of their houses. After arriving to Manali, continue the visit at Hadimba Temple and Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa

Manali → Jispa

We will leave behind the verdant hill stations of Himachal Pradesh and drive to Jispa over the mighty Rohtang Pass. En route have an interesting stop at Goshal Village. The people of this valley are mainly Buddhists and the local society still follows the ancient culture of polygamy. We will continue our drive to Jispa via Keylong, the capital city of this valley. Upon arrival at Jispa check-in at the hotel.

After breakfast, visit the local villages around Jispa.

In the afternoon, proceed for Sarchu, which marks the border between Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Sarchu is inhabited by a Himalayan clan, the gaddi, and a few lonely soldiers at an army outpost. We will relax at the camp for the rest of the day, allowing our body to acclimatize and prepare for the next drive. 

This night you will stay in a fixed camp in the mountains.

After early breakfast in the camp, commence the long drive to Leh. Drive through the southern tip of the Tibetan plateau across the highest pass on this road: Tanglang La Pass. Arrival in Leh in the evening. 

After an early breakfast at our camp, we will start the long drive across the southern tip of the Tibetan Plateau to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. This is drive is among the most beautiful mountain roads in the world, traversing winding roads and immense panoramas of snow-capped peaks all the way to Tanglang La Pass, the highest pass on this road. We will arrive to our hotel in Leh in the evening.

Having finally arrived in Leh, we will spend the next couple of days exploring the awe-inspiring Buddhist monasteries of the region. Our first day starts with a drive to the nearby Spituk to visit string of Buddhist architecture masterpieces: Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa and Spituk Gompa.

Then we will have a guided hike to Sabu Village across the desert landscapes of Ladakh. An interesting but easy two-hour trail featuring two sweeping mountain passes of 3700m. From the top you will enjoy mesmerizing views of the mythical village of Sabu. After enjoying lunch at a local house your vehicle will pick you up for the drive back to Leh.

Today we will explore the monasteries on the road to the neighboring village of Hemis. Our first stop will be Shey Gompa, a mirage of hypnotizing whitewashed stupas that were once the capital of the Buddhist kingdom of Ladakh. Next is Thiksey Gompa, the most photographed monastery in Ladakh and whose dozens of buildings covering the face of the mountain have earned it the nickname of 'Little Potala'. We will then visit Stok Palace and finally Hemis Gompa, a striking monastery famed for hosting the Hemis Festival in June and July.

Leh → Nubra Valley

After breakfast make the drive to the Nubra Valley, one of the most breathtaking sceneries in Asia where you will be completely surrounded by Himalayan peaks and the vast Trans-Himalayan desert. 

Nubra used to be an important trading town on the famous silk route leading from Leh to Kashgar through the passes of Saser and Karakoram. We will travel up the mountains once again crossing the Khardung La Pass on what is the highest motorable road in the world. After check-in at the hotel we will make a visit to the spectacular Hunder Diskit Gompa and the sand dunes of Hundar

This night you will stay in a fixed camp in the mountains.

Today we will explore the Nubra Valley making a visit to Panamik, a remote village on a barren landscape near the Sachien Galcier. Here we will visit the 250-year-old Ensa Gompa renowned for its superb Buddhist frescoes, then spend some time relaxing in Panamik's therapeutic hot springs. Past midday we will drive back to Leh.

Leh → Uleytokpo

This day we will slowly start descending to the mountain valleys of Kashmir driving through the rugged landscapes of the Himalaya to the town of Uley Tokpo

First stop is the Phyang Gompa whose walls are decorated with prodigious paintings of Tibetan dieties. Next is the Alchi Gompa, a commanding monastery with some of the best wood-work in the Indo-Tibetan region. Then we will drive to Likir Gompa, famous for its towering Maitreya statue overlooking the mountains, before finally arriving to Uley Tokpo. If time allows, we will make a visit to  Rizong Monastery.

We will continue the road to Kashmir via the ancient trading post of Kargil. On the way we will have ample time to explore Lamayuru Gompa, one of Ladakh's largest and oldest monasteries located amidst an awe-inspiring lunar landscape. Then continue to the tiny Mulbek Monastery, famous for its Giant Buddha Sculpture on carved on the face of Rock Mountain. Arrival in Kargil by the evening.

Wake up for a sunrise tour of the Dal Lake on a traditional Shikara wooden boat. , then sail to the floating vegetable market as you witness scenes of the daily life amidst spectacular scenery.
