Addis Ababa

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport meet our representatives and transfer to the hotel.

After check in at the hotel, city tour of Addis which includes the National Museum, home of the famous complete hominid fossil remains of Lucy that date 3.2 million years back; Mount Entoto, panoramic view point at the highest peak in Addis with an altitude of 3200 meter above sea level; Trinity Cathedral, a beautiful church with a baroque style of European architecture unique to both Ethiopia and Africa; the Ethnographic Museum and Merkato, the largest open air market in Africa.

Lake Tana & Blue Nile Falls

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to Bahir Dar.

After check-in at the hotel, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Tana. Then visit Azua-Mariam Monastery and Ura Kidane Mihret Monastery which are rich in icon painting.

In the afternoon, enjoy a journey to the mighty Blue Nile Falls commonly known as Tis Isat, water that smokes. After hiking the waterfalls, drive back to Bahir Dar.

After breakfast, drive to Gondar, which was one of the major cities of trade in the 17th century.

Simien Mountains

After breakfast, drive to Simien Mountains National Park which is the most marvelous of all Abyssinian landscapes.

Simien Mountains National Park constitutes many summits above 4000m and culminates at Ras Dashen, the highest peak in Ethiopia. It is the home of the endemic gelada baboon, Ethiopian wolf and Walya ibex.

After your visit, drive back to Gondar

Gondar → Axum

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to the ancient town of Axum. The archaeological and historical attractions in Axum include the archaeological museummonolithic steles, the tombs of King Kaleb and King Gebre Meskal, the legendary Bath of the Queen of Sheba, and the ruins of the ancient palace of Queen Sheba.

You will also visit the new and the old Cathedral of St Mary of Zion. The 16th Century Cathedral of St Mary of Zion was probably built on an earlier 4th century church, and is the holiest church in Ethiopia. In its sanctuary is said to rest the original Ark of the Covenant.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to Lalibela, the mother of all Ascetic Mountain towns. After check-in at the hotel, enjoy a full day city tour of Lalibela.

Lalibela is famous for its Rock Hewn churches dating back 800 years. This magnificent architecture often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The afternoon is spent exploring the atmospheric subterranean complex of passages and the 11 remarkable rock-hewn churches.

After breakfast, drive north east of Lalibela to visit the church of Yimrehane Kirstos, a built-up cave church in Axumite wood and stone.

The church has become famous for the decoration of its interior. The flat-span roof displays paneling richly adorned with geometrical designs. The ceiling over the sanctuary is domed and displays carvings and paintings. 

In the afternoon, visit the Second Group of Churches of Bete Emanuel, Bete Mercurios, Bete Abba Libanos, Bete Lehem and Bete Gabriel - Rufael and Bete Giorgis, dedicated to the national saint of Ethiopia is isolated from the other two groups of churches.

Arba Minch

After breakfast, boat trip on Lake Chamo, the largest lake in the Ethiopian Rift Valley to observe hippos and Nile crocodiles at Azo Market.

In the afternoon, drive to Chencha village to visit the Dorze tribe, which lives in the highland areas surrounded by bamboo forest and is well known for their traditional weaving and towering huts. After your visit drive back to Arba Minch.

After breakfast, drive to Jinka via Woyto.

After check in at the hotel, drive to the Mursi village through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe. The Mursi people are famous for their women putting 15cm diameter clay lip plates to adorn their body, and their men for their traditional stick fighting.

Jinka → Turmi

After breakfast, drive to Turmi via the colorful markets of Kay Afer (on Thursday) or Dimeka (Tuesday or Saturday).

On these beautiful markets you will have a chance to see Bena, Hamer, Tsemay and Ari peoples together.

Turmi → Karo → Turmi

After breakfast, drive to Karicho to visit the Karo tribe.

They paint their bodies and faces with white chalk to prepare for a ceremony.  The chalk is mixed with yellow rock, red iron ore and charcoal to make its color. Face masks are worn at times and they have clay hair buns with feathers in them.

In the afternoon, visit the hamer people and their villages. In the evening, you will have a chance to visit Evangadi night dancing and bull jumping ceremony, the rite of passage to manhood for hammer and Bena tribes.

After breakfast, drive from Turmi to Arba Minch via Konso.

On the way, visit Koso tribe and Konso Landscape. The Konso people are the hard working people and well known for their special land management, one of Africa’s most fascinating cultures. The Konso landscape is one of the world heritage sites in Ethiopia registered by UNESCO.

Arba Minch → Addis Ababa

After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa with many stops for birdwatching.

On the way, visit Lake Ziway, an authentic Ethiopian bird carnival. The great pelicans are the main stars of this astonishing natural live show, which takes place at one of the freshwater Great Rift Valley lakes of Ethiopia.

After visiting, keep driving to Addis Ababa. In the evening, traditional farewell dinner in one of the best restaurants in Addis followed by folkloric dance of different Ethiopian nations.

Then transfer to the airport to take your flight back to home.
