Addis Ababa

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport meet our representatives and transfer to the hotel.

After check in at the hotel, city tour of Addis which includes the National Museum, home of the famous complete hominid fossil remains of Lucy that date 3.2 million years back; Mount Entoto, panoramic view point at the highest peak in Addis with an altitude of 3200 meter above sea level; Trinity Cathedral, a beautiful church with a baroque style of European architecture unique to both Ethiopia and Africa; the Ethnographic Museum and Merkato, the largest open air market in Africa.

After breakfast, drive to Arba Minch.

On the way, visit UNESCO world heritage Tiya Stele site and Melka Kunture archeological site. Then keep driving to Arbaminch.

After breakfast, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Chamo, the largest lake in the Ethiopian Rift Valley to visit hippos and Nile crocodiles at Azo Market on the lake.

In the afternoon, drive to Chencha village to visit the Dorze tribe who lives in the highland areas surrounded by bamboo forests, and well known for their traditional weaving and towering huts. After your visit drive back to Arba Minch.

Arba Minch → Jinka

After breakfast, drive to Jinka via Woyto.

After check in at the hotel, drive to the Mursi village through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe. The Mursi people are famous for their women putting 15cm diameter clay lip plates to adorn their body, and their men for their traditional stick fighting.

Jinka → Turmi

After breakfast, drive to Turmi via the colorful markets of Kay Afer (on Thursday) or Dimeka (Tuesday or Saturday).

On these beautiful markets you will have a chance to see Bena, Hamer, Tsemay and Ari peoples together.

Turmi → Karo → Turmi

After breakfast, drive to Karicho to visit the Karo tribe.

They paint their bodies and faces with white chalk to prepare for a ceremony.  The chalk is mixed with yellow rock, red iron ore and charcoal to make its color. Face masks are worn at times and they have clay hair buns with feathers in them.

In the afternoon, visit the hamer people and their villages. In the evening, you will have a chance to visit Evangadi night dancing and bull jumping ceremony, the rite of passage to manhood for hammer and Bena tribes.

Turmi → Konso → Arba Minch

After breakfast, drive from Turmi to Arbaminch via Konso.

On the way, visit Koso tribe and Konso Landscape. The Konso people are the hard working people and well known for their special land management, one of Africa’s most fascinating cultures. The Konso landscape is one of the world heritage sites in Ethiopia registered by UNESCO.

Arba Minch → Addis Ababa

After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa with many stops for birdwatching.

On the way, visit Lake Ziway, an authentic Ethiopian bird carnival. The great pelicans are the main stars of this astonishing natural live show, which takes place at one of the freshwater Great Rift Valley lakes of Ethiopia.

After visiting, keep driving to Addis Ababa. In the evening, traditional farewell dinner in one of the best restaurants in Addis followed by folkloric dance of different Ethiopian nations.

Then transfer to the airport to take your flight back to home.
