Phnom Penh

On arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport meet your guide and get transferred to your hotel. 

No golf on your first day as you are relaxing and getting acclimatized. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Royal Cambodia Phnom Penh Golf Club

After breakfast your driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Royal Cambodia Phnom Penh Golf & Club

The Royal Cambodia Golf Club is situated 10 kilometers from Phnom Penh and was the first 18 hole golf club to open in the country. The 7,075 yard course is set in an attractive environment sitting amongst rice paddies and coconut palms.The course is rather flat yet it still provides a challenge with numerous sand and water hazards, including a large lake near the third hole! 

Being the closest course to Phnom Penh, it is very popular with local dignitaries. After lunch, which is on your own account, you will be transferred back to your hotel and you have the rest of the day off.

Cambodia Golf & Country Club

After breakfast your driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Cambodia Golf & Country Club

The Cambodia Golf & Country Club is located 35 kilometers west of Phnom Penh and was the second 18 holes golf course to open in the country in 1996. The 7,000+ yard course is in a pleasant rural setting surrounded by palm trees, native fruit trees, evergreen plants and beautiful flowers. With a backdrop of distant mountains it is a delightful location. The course is relatively challenging with a large number of bunkers to keep you alert. 

After lunch, which is on your own account, you will be transferred back to Phnom Penh. En route you will pass the Independence Monument which is a memorial to Cambodia's war victims after gaining the independence from France in 1953. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Phnom Penh City Tour

After breakfast, you will have enough time to explore Phnom Penh. Your first stop will be the National Museum, home to a comprehensive collection of Khmer artifacts. Continue to the nearby Royal Palace on the banks of the Mekong River. Explore the neighboring Silver Pagoda, named for its floor, which is claimed to be made of over 4,000 silver tiles! Afterwards take a short sightseeing break and enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant. 

After lunch you will learn about the dark side of Cambodia and explore its more recent harrowing history. Visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum known which was used by the Khmer Rouge as a detention and torture center in the late 1970. Today the building houses exhibits, paintings and photographs of many of the victims. 

Visitors can see the crude cells built in the classrooms and the torture devices used to extract confessions. Then, stop at the Russian Market which is an excellent place for buying Khmer antique reproductions, colorful silks or incredibly cheap clothes. 

As the highlight of the day, enjoy a 2-hour sunset dinner cruise on the Mekong River. Embark on the wooden boat at Phnom Penh International port for the boat cruise, along the famous Sisowat Quay to view Phnom Penh from the Mekong River.

Temples of Angkor

After breakfast, you will fly to Siem Reap to continue your journey. On arrival at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport meet your guide and get transferred to your hotel. 

No golf on your first day in Siem Reap as you relaxing and acclimatize. Instead collect your Angkor Conservation Area entrance pass, and continue onto the Small Circuit

This tour includes temples such as the huge pyramid of Takeo, the jungle-clad Ta Prohm made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster Tomb Raider, and Sras Srang known as the King's Bathing Pond, Banteay Kdei, and Prasat Kravan, an elegant brick temple. 

After lunch, explore the impressive Royal City of Angkor Thom, where you can find the Bayon, a temple famed for its many gigantic carved smiling faces. 

Also visit other important sites in this immense walled city such as the pyramid of Baphuon, Phimeanakas and the royal viewing stands known as the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King

If there is time left, your guide will take you to an excellent spot to watch a mesmerizing Angkor Wat sunset. The evening is free at your leisure.

Phokeethra Country Club & Village Tour

After breakfast, take a scenic 15 kilometers drive to the village of Puok giving an insight into the everyday life of Cambodians. Once you arrive at the Phokeethra Country Club you are given the opportunity to change and you get introduced to your well trained English speaking caddie who escorts you in your golf cart. 

You also have the opportunity to warm-up on the putting green and/or the driving range before your tee-off time. Once you have completed the 18th hole you will have the opportunity to relax in the well-appointed Club House. 

After your round you will be met by your guide and taken to the nearby artisans' Angkor Silk Farm. Artisan's Angkor creates the opportunity for young Cambodians to find gainful employment in their home villages by teaching traditional Khmer handicraft techniques, such as stone & wood carving, lacquering, gilding, and silk weaving. You will be shown around the farm and see the full process, from mulberry tree planting to finished silk clothing and home accessories. There is an on-site boutique which allows a great opportunity for finding high quality souvenirs. 

On the return journey to Siem Reap, if time allows, you will stop-off at the West Baray, a vast Angkor Empire man-made reservoir that still contains water today, and is a popular recreational area. This evening is free at your leisure.

Angkor Golf Course & Floating Village Cruise

After breakfast, you will be taken to the Nick Faldo designed Angkor Golf Course. On arrival at the course you get introduced to your well trained English speaking caddie who will escort you in your golf cart. 

You also have the opportunity to warm-up on the putting green and/or the driving range before your tee-off time. Once you have completed the 18th hole you will have the opportunity to relax in the well-appointed Club House. You may have lunch here or return to Siem Reap for lunch. 

After lunch, you will head south to the Tonle Sap Lake. As you get closer to the lake you will see the large hill of Phnom Krom looming closer, you may wish to climb up to see not only the modern day pagoda but also the remains of an Angkorian Temple. Once you arrive at the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest in South East Asia, you will board a boat and cruise through the traditional floating village of Chong Khneas

Witness the residents going about their daily life - it is quite a sight seeing a whole bamboo village complete with homes, gas stations, schools, hair dressers, and even karaoke bars floating on a lake. The boat will then head out into the expanse of the lake, cut its engine, and allow you to experience the setting sun disappearing into the lake in silence. Afterwards you will return to Siem Reap where you will enjoy a delightful dinner.

Angkor Temples

Take a rest from golfing and let your body and mind recover for your last round tomorrow morning. However, you may choose to rise early today to catch the sun rising from behind Angkor Wat's five carved towers –after being awed you return to your hotel for breakfast. 

After breakfast, it is time to further discover the magnificent Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious building. After being initially inspired by its overall size you will explore in more detail, getting up close and personal to fully appreciate its architecture and intricately detailed bas-reliefs. 

You will return to town for lunch, after which you head 30 kilometers north (19 miles) to visit the captivating and beautiful temple of Banteay Srei or Fortress of the Women. The journey allows you to experience the beautiful Cambodian countryside as you pass through typical small villages, on-route you stop at Banteay Samre, an elaborately decorated temple, embellished with floral motifs and scenes from the Ramayana, all carved from pink sandstone. 

This evening, you will enjoy dinner and a mesmerizing Apsara dance show at a local restaurant.

Siem Reap Resort Golf Club

After breakfast, you are taken to the Siem Reap Resort Golf Club which is the third international standard golf course that was opened close to Angkor Wat. It was designed by the renowned Japanese course architect Kentaro Sato. 

Generous palm lined fairways, and a choice of five tees on each hole enable players of all abilities to appreciate this well presented and manicured course. The elaborate clubhouse offer impressive saunas and an international restaurant, specializing in Korean cuisine. For lunch you will return to town, free at leisure for the rest of your day.

Siem Reap

After breakfast, this morning, you return to the Angkor Golf Course and play your second round of this challenging course. Enjoy the surroundings as you strive for an improved score as you have a better understanding of the course. After your round you will return to Siem Reap for lunch. 

Afterwards you are free until your transfer to catch your onward flight, leaving the home of the mighty Angkor Empire with many wonderful golfing and cultural memories…
